Background
I obtained my Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Parma, conducting most of my research as a visiting scientist in the laboratory of Elena Pasquale at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in La Jolla, California. After completing my Ph.D., I continued working in the same lab until 2012, initially as a postdoctoral associate and later as a staff scientist. During this time, I focused on studying chemical compounds for the treatment of cancer and neurological diseases.
In 2013, I joined Tiziana Bonaldi’s laboratory at IEO, where I was introduced to proteomics and mass spectrometry-based techniques. My research there focused on the clinical applications of these approaches to study histone post-translational modifications.
Research
My current research interests revolve around the proteomics and epigenetic profiling of clinical samples to identify biomarkers and targetable pathways for the stratification and treatment of cancer patients.
