Background

I completed my Master’s degree at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in the Pereira Lab, where I studied cell fate conversion toward the hematopoietic lineage. My interest in improving reprogramming efficiency led me to explore the epigenetic mechanisms underlying hematopoietic stem cell generation, which motivated me to pursue a PhD in the same group at Lund University. There, I focused on the role of hematopoietic reprogramming factors during mitosis in hematopoietic development, using mitosis specific protein degradation systems.

I am currently an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellow in the Zylicz Lab at reNEW Copenhagen, where I investigate how nuclear metabolism regulates gene expression during early embryonic development.

Research

In the Zylicz Lab, we aim to uncover how the early embryo senses and responds to its environment. More specifically, how metabolism interfaces with epigenetic regulation of gene expression during development. In this context, my work focuses on elucidating the role of nuclear metabolic enzymes during the transition from naïve to primed pluripotency.
