Background
I obtained a first-class honours degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Dundee, where my honours project focused on Parkinson’s disease. Following graduation, I worked as a research technician investigating cell cycle regulation, genomic integrity, and the mitotic surveillance pathway in cancer.
Research
My PhD research focuses on the role of ACSS2 in the metabolic-epigenetic nexus of liver cancer, with particular interest in how ACSS2-mediated acetate metabolism influences epigenetic regulation and tumour biology. I use multi-omics and stable isotope tracing approaches to investigate these mechanisms in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
