Alisa Schmidt

Background

I completed my BSc degree in Microbiology and Genetics at the University of Vienna. My interest in innovative research and genetics led me to join the Master’s program in Molecular Precision Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna. I joined the Sdelci Lab, where I completed my Master’s internship focusing on understanding the role of the metabolic enzyme IMPDH2 in the nucleus.

Research

I am now pursuing my PhD, investigating the essentiality of nuclear metabolic enzymes and assessing whether their nuclear localization is functionally required for cellular proliferation and survival.
